Autonomous Territories: The independence of a Culture

71 0

The second edition of the LatinArte festival proposes a room for visual arts that arouses a look at the perspective contemporary art of two hundred years of the independence and consolidation of Latin America.

The exhibition Autonomous Territories: The independence of a Culture is intended to produce a vision that horizontally gathers and spreads the thinking and the work of some of the Latin American artists established in Quebec.

The Commissioner’s proposal examines a look, regarding the creation of a new territory through its creativity.

She also proposes the construction of a Latin American cartography that is present in the collective memory, inhabited by the subjectivity that manifest itself through art.

From this perspective, Autonomous Territories: The independence of a Culture, is an invitation to explore the historical discourse as a constant construction process which gives place to reflection and creation.

Artists participating in this collective exhibition have different origins: Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Colombia, Peru and Mexico and they will guide us through this tour that will arouse our historical memory. These artists will shape up this celebration of independence through their works.
